Results in for most races in southern Arizona

TUCSON, Ariz. (13News) – Arizona voters made their voices heard in the Tuesday, July 30 primary election.

The big races are summarized below, but all the results from Southern Arizona are here https://www.kold.com/politics/election-results/

The winners will advance to the general election scheduled for Nov. 5. Some races have already been decided because there were no unopposed candidates, but the results are not official until they are verified by the Secretary of State's office.

U.S. Senate

  • Ruben Gallego of the Democratic Party advanced to the general election unopposed.
  • Republican Party – The Associated Press reported that Kali Lake (55.4%) won over Mark Lamb (39.2%) and Elizabeth Ray (6%).

U.S. House of Representatives

District 6

  • Democrat – Kirsten Engel advanced unopposed to the general election.
  • Republican Party – The Associated Press reported that Juan Siscomani (61.7%) defeated Kathleen Wynne (38.3%).

District 7

  • Democrat – Raul Grijalva ran unopposed in the general election.
  • Republican Daniel Buttierez advanced unopposed to the general election.

Pima County Board of Supervisors

District 1

  • Democratic Party — Rex Scott led Jake Martin (33.5%) with 66.5% of the vote.
  • Republican Steve Spain advanced unopposed to the general election.

District 2

  • Democrat – Matt Heintz advanced unopposed to the general election.
  • Republican — John Bakker leads with 62.2% over Beatrice Stevens (37.8%).

District 3

  • Democratic Party — Jennifer Allen received 53.3% of the vote, leading Edgar Soto (19.3%), April Ignacio (16.1%) and Miguel Cuevas (11.2%).
  • Republican – Janet Wittenbraker advanced unopposed to the general election.

District 4

  • Democrat – Vanessa Bechtol advanced unopposed to the general election.
  • Republican Steve Christie advanced unopposed to the general election.

District 5

  • Democrat – Adelita Grijalva advanced unopposed to the general election.

Pima County Attorney

  • Democrat – The Associated Press reported that Laura Conover (66.8%) defeated Mike Jett (33.3%). Since she is unopposed in the November election, she will serve another term.

Pima County Sheriff

  • Democrat – The Associated Press reported that Chris Nanos (61.4%) defeated Sanford Rosenthal (38.6%).
  • Republican –Heather Lapin received 44.8% of the vote, leading Bill Phillips (40.0%) and Terry Frederick (15.2%).

Pima County Recorder

  • Democrat – Gabriela Cazares Kelly advanced unopposed to the general election.
  • Republican Dominique Campbell Gonzalez advanced unopposed to the general election.

Pima County Superintendent of Education

  • Democrats — Dustin Williams was elected unopposed and will retain his seat unless a nominal candidate emerges.

South Tucson City Council

(The top four vote-getters win seats.)

  • Dulce Jimenez (22.0%), Pablo Robles (20.9%), Melissa Dominguez (18.3%), Paul Diaz (13.5%), Herman Lopez (11.6%), Tim Escobedo (7.8%) and Scott Sears (5.9%).

Marana City Council

(The top two vote-getters win seats.)

  • Patrick Cavanaugh (34.5%), Roxanne Ziegler (33.1%) and Melissa Zupi (32.4%).

Mayor of Marana

  • Ed Honea advanced unopposed to the general election.

Oro Valley Town Council

(The top three vote-getters win seats.)

  • Elizabeth Robb (29.0%), Mary Murphy (27.8%), Harry Green (22.3%) and Tim Bowen (20.9%).

Cochise County Board of Supervisors

District 1

  • Democrat – Theresa Walsh advanced unopposed to the general election.
  • Republican — Tom Crosby led Clint Briseno (46.9%) with 52.7% of the vote.

District 2

  • Democratic Party — Joni Giacomino led Mitch Lindemann (37.7%) with 61.8% of the vote.
  • Republican Kathleen Gomez advanced unopposed to the general election.

District 3

  • Democrat Joy Banks advanced unopposed to the general election.
  • Republican — Frank Antenori received 35.8% of the vote, leading Nancy Olmstead (24.7%), Katie Miller (20.6%) and Sonia Gachot (176%).

Cochise County Sheriff

  • Republican – Mark Dannels advanced unopposed to the general election.

Santa Cruz County Sheriff

  • Democratic Party — David Hathaway received 52.2% of the vote, leading Marioa Morales (19.7%), Rafael Corrales (19.4%), Jose Agostini (5.3%) and Andrew Ibarra (2.4%).
  • Republican James Gottlob advanced unopposed to the general election.

Mayor Benson

  • Joe Conrad was leading Lori McGoffin with 52% of the vote (47.6%).

Mayor of Bisbee

  • Ken Budge received 69.5% of the vote, leading Gretchen Bonaduce (15.5%) and Wanda Lycan (14.9%).

Mayor of Tombstone

  • Dusty Escapule led Kenneth Palkow (27.2%) with 71.5% of the vote.

Pinal County Sheriff

  • Democrat Patrick Melvin advanced unopposed to the general election.
  • Republican — Ross Teeple received 63.6% of the vote, leading Kevin Cavanaugh (30.7%) and Charles Austin Jr. (5.2%).
