“When I first had the litmus test, when I looked at Speaker Johnson’s biography, I thought, ‘Oh, this is David Duke Wright.’ I used that word…that’s wrong. And I don’t know the guy. He doesn’t care what I think, but I think he got it wrong. Actually, Chairman Johnson did a really good job. I think so,” Galloway said. “That means a speaker should be in an administrative position, not a political position. I don’t agree with his politics. I never meant that, but I think he was a good administrator. I think so.”

“I think he’s done his job. He’s tried. He’s boxed people in. He’s raised the debt ceiling. I think he’s doing what the role calls for. I think he is an adult who is seriously thinking about his actual position.” “I think he’s done as good a job as we expected, probably in one of the worst positions, but it’s almost impossible at the moment.”

Johnson reclaimed the speakership in the 119th Congress on Friday. This comes after Republican holdouts overturned votes during the first round.

Then Tarlov spoke.

“I agree with most of it, but I don’t agree with the ‘David Duke Lite’ part. I think there are concerns about him. When we had that conversation a little over a year ago, we “didn’t know much about soon-to-be Speaker Johnson other than that he was part of the plan to overturn the election results,” Tarlov said. “And there was good reason to think that he was more of a firefighter than a manager. And we found that he was content to be a little elf in the workshop. And he’s just running from office to office saying, “What do you need?” What do you need to do to get your vote? ”

“And he doesn’t have any rhetoric. I mean, he’s fine on TV. He’s always on, so I appreciate that. I think it’s good to hear from guys like that. seems to be less afraid of talking to people he disagrees with, and I think that’s a big plus point…he’s getting the job done and working, and as I said, the majority since 1917. It will be a small number,” she added. “What do you want in a man? He shows up every day. He looks perfect. He knows who he has to talk to. He’s on good terms and on good terms with President-elect Trump and Ylonia. He has a relationship that looks like he’s going to have a good relationship with them, and he knows how to take what he gets from them and bring it back to the unruly caucus…Generally speaking, yeah, he’s probably the right guy. For this moment when I feel like a person.”

President Trump endorsed Johnson in a speech on December 30, saying he is a “good, hard-working, godly man” who will “do the right thing.”
