SiriusXM personality Howard Stern began his Tuesday interview with Vice President Kamala Harris by asking her if she likes talking about herself.
Harris participated in a friendly media blitz on Tuesday, where she appeared on “The View.”howard stern show” and will also appear on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” The vice president admitted to Stern that he was raised believing it was “improper” to talk about himself.
“You said that even when you ran for Congress, it was like running for some kind of election. [district attorney] Or Attorney General, you said, “I don’t like to talk about myself.” I was raised not to be a narcissist. ”And here, [Republican nominee Donald Trump] That’s why I only talk about myself. But it’s weird, and it’s weird for you to talk about your accomplishments and kind of congratulate yourself,” Stern said.
“It’s always been that way, you’re right. That’s how I was raised. It’s not about you, it’s about what you do,” Harris replied. “And you’re right. I feel like it’s disrespectful to talk about myself, but apparently I’m doing it right now…and my friend actually said, ‘You know, now… This is not the time to worry about modesty, because this is clearly what you have to do. Let people know who you are. ”
Harris held off giving interviews until a month into her campaign in July, giving fewer interviews than any other presidential candidate in modern history. reported Mid-September. She and vice presidential candidate Tim Walz had their first interview with CNN’s Dana Bash on August 29, in which she talked about important policy issues from her time as a U.S. senator and 2020 presidential candidate. Couldn’t explain why some of the above positions were changed.
The vice president recently appeared on Alex Cooper’s podcast “Call Her Daddy,” and on September 25, he appeared in a solo sit-down interview on MSNBC’s Stephanie Rhule. Harris’ first tough interview took place Monday night on “60 Minutes,” where CBS News correspondent Bill Whitaker pressed her on the economy, policy changes and the border crisis.
The vice president told his co-hosts on “The View” that he “can’t think of anything” that would be different from President Joe Biden over the past four years.
