Riots At UCLA Riots Are About So Much More Than Just The Israel-Hamas War

What started as a routine left-wing protest in April quickly turned into a battle for the UCLA campus, and Daily Caller investigative reporters were on the ground to document it all.

An April protest over the Israeli-Hamas war quickly turned into an encampment in a picturesque UCLA courtyard, setting the stage for a riot in which anti-Israel activists, pro-Israel counter-protesters and the Los Angeles Police Department clashed in the middle of the night.

The Daily Caller's new documentary, “Anarchy U,” captured it all unfolding in real time: the violence, the occupation of buildings, the construction and destruction of encampments, and the power struggle between might, justice and the law.

But in documenting this unrest, we discovered that the motivations of the anti-Israel protesters run much deeper than mere solidarity with the Palestinians. They go beyond even the destruction of Israel. They want nothing less than the destruction of the entire Western world order.

“Anarchy U” is available exclusively to Patriots members. Watch our exclusive sneak peek below:

Since the October 7 attacks, you've probably heard a favorite catchphrase of anti-Israel protesters repeated ad nauseam: “Decolonize now!” they demand.

The phrase has been repeated countless times: it is not just Israel that needs to be “decolonized”; it is American society, the developing world, schools, healthcare, media, culture, the whole world seems to suffer from the legacy of colonialism.

But colonialism doesn't exist anymore, you might think. We live in an international community of nations, guaranteed to protect us from arbitrary tyranny, at least in developed countries like the United States and Israel. So what does this decolonizer think? I really want it?

Investigative reporter Cam Higbee was able to infiltrate the UCLA encampment and paint a clearer picture: The UCLA intifadah protesters often had broader aims: “This is BLM version two,” Higbee explains.

Higbie has been documenting the rally, where organizers are calling for the “liberation” of Palestinians, but also the liberation of “workers, and all oppressed people.”

“Let us fight for a socialist world and against this evil capitalism of American imperialism,” the agitator continues.

To those opposed to Israel, Israel is just one small part of a larger imperialist whole, and decolonization is nothing more than Marxism repackaged for a modern audience under the umbrella of identity politics.

For Marx it was proletarians versus bourgeoisie – workers exploited by their capitalist bosses. Marxists today take the same oppressor-victim paradigm and expand it: colonized versus colonizer, black versus white, women versus men, gay versus heterosexual – these are all new Marxist formulations.

In America, postwar living standards were too high to pit workers against capitalists, so Marxists had to get creative. Instead, they took examples of historical oppression in America—slavery and segregation of blacks—and built a new foundation around them. These new Marxists say that racism is simply an inevitable consequence of exploitative capitalism; it's a tool used to ensure that the rich and powerful stay rich and powerful. Thus you get ideas like “system racism,” a phantom threat that can only be truly defeated with the overthrow of capitalism in the West, with the goal of liberating American life from the supposed scourge of white supremacy.

Since Europe does not have the painful legacy of slavery, neo-Marxists target the history of European colonialism, another true example of past injustice, defined in the abstract to move the present world towards Marxism. The Third World today is underdeveloped not because of any choice or lack of choice they have made; rather, they have fallen behind because of centuries of Western oppression, the legacy of which continues through capitalism. With the West so far ahead, they can never catch up. Again, the only solution is to overthrow the system altogether.

You might think that Israel doesn't fit neatly into either category, but to decolonization advocates, Israel is a white European “Settler colonialism. It was “stolen” by the colonialists and given to European Jews at the expense of the “Palestinians.” In this mindset, the only true “justice” is the Intifada, a literal “shaking off” of Israel and the entire Western order.

But the destruction of Israel alone is not enough. The goal is, forever and always, world revolution. It cannot happen only in one country. It must happen everywhere, simultaneously. That means a constant fight for “decolonization.” Otherwise the oppressors will always find a way to stay in power.

So when anti-Israel protesters try to grab the mantle of morality and righteousness, realize that they are lying. They don't want a better world. They want a world in which they are in charge — a Marxist hellscape in which everyone is worse off except for them.

Watch “Anarchy U” today to learn more about the sinister motivations of anti-Israel protesters and how they intersect with BLM, Antifa, and all left-wing groups that want to destroy the American way of life.
