‘RIP Twitter’: Arizona Cardinals Take Shot At Elon Musk Over Social Media Company’s Rebrand

I can’t say I blame them.

Billionaire Elon Musk rebranded Twitter over the weekend, replacing the classic blue-and-white bird with a tacky-looking ‘X’. This was an absolutely horrible decision, at least in my and others’ opinions. In fact, it was such a bad move that the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals were forced to express their displeasure.

In honor of the legendary social media bird, the Cardinals changed their Twitter profile picture from the standard red Cardinal to one using the same iconic Twitter colors.

“We liked birds better…” the team wrote, along with the hashtag #RIPTwitter.

Hi, I’m very curious how Elon Musk has destroyed Twitter in style.

When Elon first bought Twitter, I didn’t know what to expect. I know a lot of conservatives are his fans, but I personally had (and still have) trust issues. Back to this point, Elon has only slammed Twitter into an anarchic and nasty patch, and they still censor the political right.

In other words, I was right to be skeptical.

To me, he’s not an intelligent person with genius plans around every corner. He just happens to be on our side and (somehow) happens to have a lot of money, but in the end, looking at his work, one company after another just goes bankrupt. And here Twitter kicks in again… just crumbling in real time.
