Locanna, a Democrat, California state lawmaker, said Tuesday that his party should practice “basic respect” and “decorum” as popularity continues to erode.
Khanna told “Fox & Friends” host Steve Doocy that his party should respect “a certain tradition” and show a willingness to challenge the media, both civil and conservative, along with its political opponents. He criticized fellow Democrats for refusing to stand up and praise Devarjaye “DJ” Daniel, a 13-year-old cancer patient who became an honorable secret service agent by President Donald Trump in a March 4 speech to Congress.
“We need to have [an economic] In this country, industrialised country, it’s a vision to actually produce good pay, high paying jobs. One of the biggest things is I don’t know why we didn’t stand up to a boy with cancer in a union state. I stood up,” Kanna said. I just think we should argue the facts and come to more shows, by the way, where we don’t agree. I think you have to mix it up, and the reality is that there are Republicans who see Fox [News]there are independents, there are Democrats, I think we have to say we are willing to be stupid. We want to have a discussion. We can clarify our vision and challenge ourselves. ” (Related: “Leadership Fail”: Ro Khanna blames his own party for not having a strategy other than what Republicans want to lose)

Kanna further said his party needs to develop a “common sense” vision on how to fix the economy, deal with illegal immigration and mitigate crime. He said he could not defend former President Joe Biden’s administration after allowing record-breaking numbers of illegal immigrants to flood the United States in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

Since Trump took office, Democrats have launched several protests against his administration and government efficiency (DOGE), and even spitting violent rhetoric against Trump and Elon Musk. Lawmakers, including California Rep. Maxine Waters, tried to force a path to the Department of Education on February 7 in response to Trump’s plans to remove government agencies, despite security denied entry.
During Trump’s Congress speech, Democrat Texas Rep. Al Greene screamed for the president and was eventually escorted from his house room.
Lawmakers launched a civil war in response to opposition pressures to keep the government open when Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer expressed support for the Republican spending bill. Schumer postponed his book tour on Monday after it was expected to meet protests from grassroots leftist organizations over support for the fundraising bill.
Kanna criticized Schumer for not receiving concessions before expressing support for the fundraising bill, claiming that Democrats should agree to Republicans not to cut Social Security or firefighters. Trump repeatedly assures Americans that his party will not cut Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid.
