PHOENIX — Those traveling around downtown Tempe this weekend should be aware that a number of travel restrictions will be in place due to a series of running events and street festivals.

Saturday's 5k run begins at 8 a.m. at Tempe Beach Park, followed by the Kids Rock mile and half-mile runs at 9:30 a.m.
Sunday's two races, the half marathon and 10K, are scheduled to start at 7:15 a.m. at Mill Avenue and Third Street.

Why is the running series called Rock and Roll Arizona?

Once the running activities conclude, Tempe's Second Sunday on the Mill event will be held from noon to 5 p.m.
Mill Avenue will be closed to vehicles between University Drive and Rio Salado Parkway, as well as the intersection of Fifth, Sixth and Seventh avenues, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
