Can I watch hockey in H-Town?
It's always an interesting conversation when NHL expansion comes up, but when it comes to which cities the franchise should be located in, Atlanta and Houston have been at the top of my list for quite some time.
Especially in Houston, where the owner of the Rockets (NBA franchise) is trying to bring an NHL team to the city, and frankly, I can't help but wonder why that hasn't happened yet. (Related: New York Rangers win Stadium Series game with totally bizarre goal…was it not actually a goal?)
Regardless, Tilman Fertitta said he's trying to make it a reality. bloomberg He revealed that he has talked with the NHL about starting a team in the league.
“We're in talks with the NHL, but it has to be good for both of us…What we know is that when concerts are held downtown, how it energizes downtown. It's just that they know what the Astros are doing for downtown and what even football is for.'Downtown,' Fertitta said.
He also said he is “open to supporting franchise expansion and acquiring teams from other markets.”
🏒 Houston has a richer hockey history than outsiders might expect, but the city still doesn't have its own NHL team.
Is it possible that things will change in the not too distant future? https://t.co/RSnmt5dy1U pic.twitter.com/6Hp8KIFOl7

Imagine having an NHL team in town, music and references, and a completely icy H-Town experience.
That's right, you'll definitely feel at ease at this party.
