RON PAUL: RFK Jr. Is Right — Americans Deserve The Freedom To Choose Their Healthcare

At a recent Senate hearing, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Secretary of Health and Human Services. I said I’ve never thought I’d heard of it from the top federal health authorities.

It wasn’t a Dodge. That was honest. And frankly, it’s a breath of fresh air.

For a long time, Washington health bureaucrats have believed that their job is to determine medical decisions for Americans. That idea led to the lockdown, mandate, censorship and bystanders of safe and effective tools that were widely distributed early in the pandemic, such as monoclonal antibodies (MABs). Secretary Kennedy’s testimony suggests a different view. The role of government is not to play a doctor, but to protect all Americans’ freedom to decide what’s best for their health.

That’s the right idea and the essence of true healthcare choices. (Related: Starbucks plots Maha Makeover after meeting RFK Jr.)

This is in contrast to the last administration. Under President Joe Biden, Americans were forced to choose between the vaccines they didn’t want – with a massive booster – with continued restrictions on their freedom.

Biden did not promote vaccine choice. He has aggressively pushed the vaccines and boosters as key defenses from Covid. Meanwhile, monoclonal antibodies – prevention and treatment tools that reduce the risk of hospitalization and death 74% and 84% In high-risk patients, they were pushed aside. Despite MAB successfully treating President Donald Trump and being supported by countless doctors who sought wider access, the administration has significantly reduced its distribution.

why? Because the Biden White House chose to prioritize vaccinations above all else. It preferred micromanagement of American care rather than allowing families to make informed decisions.

It was politics, not science. And the Americans paid the price.

His son, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, is also a doctor, but as he has said many times, some patients even rejected the MAB for what he called a “partisan political game,” namely, politically imposed FDA guidance that many hospitals felt had pressured them to follow through the pandemic. Five years later, the FDA has not yet fully approved the monoclonal antibody product.

It does not “follow science” or respect people’s rights and their ability to make their own health care decisions. It’s the worst kind of overreach of government. Micromanage medical decisions by restricting your options and building regulatory barriers designed to control accessible treatments and prevention. When Washington decides what care you are allowed to pursue, what opinions you are allowed to hear, what shots you need to take, you no longer live in a free country.

Currently, under the new administration, under the helm of Secretary Kennedy and HHS, we have the opportunity to chart new courses rooted in freedom rather than fear.

Americans should have access to vaccines if they need one, but they should have access to alternatives like MABS. The government should be allowed to hear not only those approved by the “experts”, but all aspects of the medical discussion. And they should be trusted to make informed choices for themselves and their families.

While Secretary Kennedy’s comments may not please the political class, they respected the principles in which the country was established. Government serves people and not the other way around.

Actual health policies do not come from control. It’s about being confident in Americans from making their choices. I am very pleased that Secretary Kennedy appears to understand this early stage.
