Senate Democrats are missing a chance to show voters a lesson from November regarding their handling of the Laken Riley Act.
Republicans are likely using the death of Laken Riley, a Georgia student who was raped and murdered by a Venezuelan illegal immigrant, to push for amendments to the bill that would make it harder to deport illegal immigrants who commit crimes. He would be jumping up and down with joy. us

The Laken-Riley Act mandates the federal detention of undocumented immigrants accused of theft, robbery, and other related crimes. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, along with 32 other Democratic senators, voted in favor of the motion to advance the bill. But Schumer said on the Senate floor that Democrats want amendments to “improve this bill” before it passes. (Red wave threat forces Democrats to confront their weakest policies)
“We are going to ask our Republican colleagues to allow us to debate and vote on the amendment, and we hope that our Republican colleagues will allow us to do that,” Schumer said on the Senate floor. . “This issue is extremely important. The American people deserve a serious debate about this issue, including consideration of proposed amendments from the Democratic side.”
Democrats won’t support the bill unless it includes “exempting Dreamers and requiring illegal immigrants to be convicted, not just charged, before they can be detained,” Semafor said. reported. (ROOKE: Legacy media openly predicts which Trump candidate they will try to strangle as hearings begin)
Apparently, Democrats have yet to examine the exit polls from the November election, in which President-elect Donald Trump regained the White House and Democrats lost control of the House and Senate. Reuters/Ipsos poll carried out From December 5th to December 10th, even more Americans supported mass deportation of illegal immigrants than when Trump took office in 2017.
“The share of respondents who say most or all illegal immigrants in the U.S. should be deported has remained fairly stable at 53%, compared with 51% in 2017,” Reuters reported.

Illinois Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin said Reporters on Monday reported that Senate Majority Leader John Thune wants the bill to have a bipartisan appearance and supports Democratic amendments. Mr. Thune’s ability to lead the Senate as the top Republican will be hampered if he cannot strongly counter the Democratic Party’s wish list, which includes allowing “Dreamers” to be deported even if they commit crimes against American citizens. I can’t help but have doubts. (The top candidate for the White House may be a deep state cronies)
Mr. Thune should force Democrats to vote against the clean Laken-Reilly Act. Let Americans explain how they feel protecting illegal immigrants who are criminals is more important than the safety of American citizens. Never before have Americans been so supportive of strict immigration policies. All we need is a Republican Party with the backbone to carry out the will of the people.
Some of the changes discussed: Dreamer exception, arrest vs. detention convictions. Lead sponsor Senator Britt said of the possible changes: …I certainly wish there had been something by now. ”

Democrats (and Republicans, it seems) fail to understand the mandate voters gave America’s elected officials on November 5th. Americans do not want business as usual, legislation that cripples their causes, or weakness on the issues they care about most. We want and deserve action. No more American lives should be lost to Democrats’ open borders policies. Criminals must be deported. Anything less is a breach of duty by those elected to serve us.
