The recent primary election results in Colorado and New York are intriguing because they could signal a major political realignment within the Democratic Party.
Democratic voters have begun to purge prominent progressives from the party, signaling a major shift in a seemingly concerted effort toward a far-left takeover of the Democratic Party.
New York Democratic Congressman Jamaal Bowman lost He lost Tuesday's primary to a more moderate opponent, Westchester County Mayor George Latimer, even though his fellow progressive, New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, hosted a rally for him in the Bronx.
Anyone who says Jamaal Bowman lost the primary because of his stance on the Middle East conflict is being a superficial pundit…he lost because he was completely out of step with his constituency…his final ad was about his opposition to Biden's infrastructure bill. pic.twitter.com/79AnzW5ER5

Colorado is also seeing a shift toward the center. 8 out of 11 Progressive Democrats seeking reelection to state legislatures have lost or are expected to lose primaries against moderate candidates. Ohio, Texas, Illinois, California, Michiganand Oregon All of this was bad for progressive Democrats.
The radical left doesn't seem to understand that…
The Democratic Party's base is not far-left progressives.
Suburban women, older African Americans, labor unions — groups that want fair treatment but aren't crying out for socialist revolution.

Americans are fed up with President Joe Biden's progressive policies, which have destroyed the economy, left the border open to illegal immigrants, and sparked a social backlash against previously embraced left-wing socialist movements. But until recently, Biden was the only candidate to incur voter anger, and his approval rating in the polls has worsened as the election draws closer.
It will be interesting to watch the primary battle between Bowman's Fell Squad members, Missouri Democratic Rep. Cori Bush and St. Louis County District Attorney Wesley Bell. Bell is a registered Democrat, but he also was once campaign manager for former Rep. William Lacy Clay Jr.'s Republican challenger, Mark Byrne. Luke: The election “conspiracy theory” that Democrats say didn't happen… is happening in 49 states.
If Mr. Bush loses to Mr. Bell, it could shatter the progressive wing's stronghold on the Democratic Party and pave the way for an internal party split that commentators had not foreseen.
