Democrat California Gov. Gavin Newsom has accused Fox News of defamation in a $787 million lawsuit Friday morning.
Newsom alleges in the lawsuit that Fox News host Jesse Watters lied about his call with President Donald Trump, and that the program misleadingly edited Trump’s video to support his claim.
“If Fox News wants to lie to Americans on behalf of Donald Trump, it should face consequences — just like with Dominion.” I said Politics in a statement. “I will continue to fight their propaganda machines until Fox is willing to become true.”

Newsom could lose his case, but victory here is not the main objective. He wants to be president very badly and the only way to win that is likely to be a very busy major race is to get a base on his side. Newsom knows leftist activists strangle his party to fight Trump and the Right in every possible way.
The only way to get a base on his side is to appear to be fighting the Trump administration. (Related: Gavin Newsom sues Fox News)
However, his plan is a major flaw. Having a Democrat supporter isn’t enough to win the White House. Newsom has to convince enough voters in every state that he will make good executives. That job seems increasingly impossible given that considering his fight with Trump is essentially a battle with American voters who have him in office.
