The outcome of last night's Iowa caucuses was by any stretch of the imagination a disaster for former Ambassador Nikki Haley. Not only did she fall short of second place (the highest any candidate other than former President Donald Trump could hope for), she revealed that her biggest allies are the Democratic Party and the mainstream media.
When you're running for the Republican presidential nomination, the people most counting on increasing your vote numbers are the people who actively want you and all of your colleagues to fail. But that's exactly the person who propelled Haley to her only election. county Trump lost Monday's Iowa primary.

Haley defeated Trump in Johnson County by just one vote, 1,271 to 1,270. according to Go to the preliminary results for the Iowa Republican Party.president joe biden won Johnson County received over 70% of the vote in 2020.
This isolated county count claims Haley's victory, but CBS report It wasn't a disgruntled Republican who pushed the former ambassador over the line. Democrats reportedly rushed to the venue in inclement weather to vote for Haley.
“The most interesting development… [was] “There were 50 forms for anyone who wanted to register tonight or change their party registration,” CBS News' Tony Dokoupil reported. “They ran out of that paper. Members of the caucus team here had to run out to multiple people's homes to get printer paper and turn on the printers. They They printed about 25 more sheets of paper. They estimate that about 75 people are new registrants or switched their registration from Democratic to Republican to attend tonight's caucuses.” (Luke: If it's really a “right-wing conspiracy theory,” why do Democrats keep proving it's real?)
“I think that's a big reason why Nikki Haley was lifted,” he continued. “What we're talking about here is about 20% of the votes are new registrations or crossovers, which is above normal turnout. Get Estimates [of] A typical open caucus is about 10%, so if she can outperform in a county or caucus setting like this one, that would bode well for her abilities. [be] This, of course, is what her campaign truly wants to get the story across in New Hampshire. ”

When the number of Democrats willing to vote against the weather in Iowa's open primary wasn't enough to secure Ms. Haley statewide, the mainstream media ran a narrative laden with racism and sexism. I tried my best.
MSNBC host and resident race watcher Joy Reid told viewers that Haley's gender and race were “the elephant in the room.”
“She's still a dark-skinned woman. She has to win in a party that is deeply anti-immigrant and embraces the idea that immigrants can be said to be poisoning the blood of our country,” Reid said. “You know, she's 'spawned' by Donald Trump, but I don't care how much her donor base likes her.”

Reed added that Haley is having a hard time in Iowa because too many white Christians vote in the primary. “This state has a majority white Christian population, especially those who will be in tonight's caucuses,” she said.
JUST IN: MSNBC host Joy Reid's hair has turned white, but she seems to have a problem with how many white Christians there are in Iowa.
She'll be even more annoyed after tonight is over.

Haley has faced constant criticism from Republican voters for her tendency to tow the party's old line on critical issues such as foreign policy and gender ideology.
she thinks children should be like that approved Taking irreversible puberty blockers and undergoing genital mutilation surgery in a futile pursuit of gender reassignment. Her views on sending troops overseas to fight in globalist wars alone should disqualify her as a Republican candidate. It's not because she can't have her own opinion, but because she's so out of touch with how her Republican base views these issues. (ROOKE: Worrying about January 6th is a luxury only the rich can afford)
In the early 2000s, Republican voters supported war in the Middle East because of the devastating terrorist attacks of 9/11. But after two decades, billions of dollars, and the deaths of thousands of American soldiers, Republicans are even more hesitant to jump back into the eternal war in the desert. Especially when the real war within the country is happening on the borders and in major cities.
Biden set the tone for 2024 with a redo of his red speech at Valley Forge. Democrats will target Republicans as extremists who hate Democrats and want to put a racist bigot in the White House. Mainstream media used this framework to justify Haley's defeat on Monday. That's because Haley is the only Republican candidate running as well as a Democratic candidate.
Without her Democratic friends, she wouldn't have even finished third, as Republican voters have largely moved the party away from Haley and others.
