Ryan Reynolds shared several photos on social media on Friday of Rob McElhenney's “Deadpool & Wolverine” cameo and explained why he didn't make it into the film.
Reynolds Posts He explained on Instagram why McElhenney's scene wasn't cut from the final cut of the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine movie, saying that it wasn't because there was a problem with McElhenney's acting, but because the scene itself didn't fit the context of the movie.
“Rob was so gracious to come in to #DeadpoolAndWolverine for a cameo that I hope will remain as a digital extra. As they say when editing a movie, 'sometimes you have to kill your favorite' and with a heavy heart (and wonderful outside intervention) I have to kill off a favorite in this cameo,” the actor wrote.
Reynolds Reynolds also revealed that the scene saw McElhenney's character meet an ignominious end, being devoured and excreted by the giant creature. “Despite his pleading for his life, Arios lifted his unsuspecting body into the air, swallowed him whole, and ultimately digested him and turned him into Arios feces. Rest in peace, TVA soldier,” he continued. (RELATED: Producer Says Hugh Jackman Made Grown Men Cry on Set)
We traveled 6,000 miles to film the cameo, which was accidentally cut out in the cinema where I saw it, so I hope you all enjoyed it. I know Ryan wouldn't do something like that, so I'm looking forward to watching the film and the cameo again today! #Deadpool and Wolverine pic.twitter.com/0yhZqLuiLz
