Every week during the college football season, Alabama head coach Nick Saban joins The Pat McAfee Show to discuss his team, previous games and other topics. This week Saban laughed off rumors of his retirement that have grown in recent weeks.
When McAfee asked Saban why this topic comes up around this time every year, Saban replied with a smile. “Maybe it's because I'm older.”
Why do you think coaches talk about retirement every year?
“Maybe it’s because I’m older😂😂”
I think that's the way the world is going now.”

During Saban's first appearance on the show earlier this season, he called the speculation “laughable” and said people have been saying it for at least five years.
“I think there have been rumors for about five years that I would be retiring, which is kind of funny.
I love what I do and am focused on the challenge.” ~ Nick Saban #PMS Live pic.twitter.com/YWpq7huGsN

“I think there's going to be some benefit for people, whether it's recruiting or whatever, but I love what I do and I'm focused on the challenge. I've always wanted to screw up a program. I said no, I don't want to do it if I can't do it anymore, but right now I feel great, I love it, and we're all committed,'' Saban said. Back in September.
The Alabama Crimson Tide's season ended last week, but yesterday's appearance is expected to be Saban's last appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. For now, that is.
