Legendary actor Samuel L. Jackson appeared as a meme at Sunday’s Tony Awards ceremony rather than taking home hardware.
The famous actor was nominated for Best Actor in a Play for his performance in August Wilson’s The Piano Lesson. But Jackson’s losing scowl quickly spread when the award went to Brandon Uranowitz. The video shows the actor’s dejected look of loss, and the internet can’t get enough of it.

Social media was soon ablaze with comments about Jackson’s total depression over not winning the award.
One Twitter user wrote, “Oh my God, Samuel L. Jackson’s face.”
another person said“Imagine pretending that Brandon Uranowitz could have played any role better than Samuel L. Jackson in August’s Dam Wilson play. We made it happen.🤣”
One Twitter user stepped forward: “Oh, I have no idea if he’s mad or super bored or both.”

Thousands of comments appeared online as people made fun of the famous actor who couldn’t control his facial expressions long enough to survive the losing applause.
Jackson, along with his wife, Latanya Richardson-Jackson, then approached the New York City stage to present the Best Play award. Clearly conscious of the fact that his reactions are trending, he used this opportunity to make fun of himself. (Related: Samuel L.
