The conference discussed all port projects along the borders of Arizona, California, Texas and Mexico.
SAN LUIS, AZ (KYMA, KECY) – City Councilors Matthias Rosales and City Councilors Tadeo Azael de la Jolla presented the San Luis Port 1 Modernization Project and what their counterpart in San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora is planning.
Both council members joined federal, state and local officials from both Mexico and the United States at a bilateral bridge and border crossing meeting in Washington, DC on Friday.
“We are honored to represent the City of San Luis at the BBBX in Washington, D.C. We are thrilled to showcase the latest federal investment in the San Luis I Port of Entry,” said Matias Rosales, Councilor and Chairman of the Greater Yuma Port Authority.
“By giving presentations, we will be able to launch projects with the cooperation of Mexican state partners, federal agencies, local governments and their counterparts,” he added. “Some people think such a project is impossible, but let this soon-to-be-completed new port of entry serve as an example that infrastructure projects can be done with hard work, time and support from all stakeholders. We are proving that they can be done,” he concluded.
Hosted by the U.S. Department of Security and the Mexican side’s Department of Foreign Affairs, the meeting convened all of the major, federal, and state shareholders from both countries to discuss Arizona, California, Texas, and any port of entry projects along the Mexican border.
