Allison was furious in response to Jennings’ comments.
“No, there was no meltdown. We watched the vice president do his job because we had to wait 14 hours, but we still watched Mike Pence work,” Allison said. said. “And just as we applauded Mike Pence for having the courage to stand up to Donald Trump, it’s hard to lose when people lose, whether they’re kids or adults. “So we’re here because he couldn’t grow up. He couldn’t stand up and say this country is bigger than me,” Allison added. “Voters decided four years ago. Today, he still hasn’t done it. Now, in 2000 and 2004. You can try to compare the years, but it’s not the same. And you can do that — I know, deep down, what happened on January 6th is us. Former Obama administration aide Van Jones agreed, pointing out that Trump has “never given a concession speech” since the 2020 election.
“Even as the violence was unfolding, he said this election was stolen from us,” Abby Phillip said. “He literally said that while the cops were being beaten.”
CNN Data reporter Harry Enten noted on Monday that only 5% of Americans surveyed considered the Capitol riot to be their “greatest memory” of President Trump’s first term.
