Screening of ‘Other Side’ and Question-and-Answer Session

Sedona International Film Festival Features “Other Side”

The Sedona International Film Festival is set to showcase “Other Side,” a film in the “Heartful Living, Gentle Dying” series. The screening will take place at 4:00 PM on Thursday, July 17th, at the Mary Fisher Theatre.

This unique premiere will be followed by a Zoom Q&A session with co-directors Heather Hogan and Carter Oakley.

When it comes to death, well, there’s no escaping it, and sometimes, I guess, suffering feels optional.

After battling cancer three times, activist Linduasuin from Connecticut sought medical assistance for dying after facing various nausea and tough treatments. Unfortunately, this compassionate end-of-life choice wasn’t available in her hometown, prompting her to file a lawsuit against Vermont. She aimed to access their laws regarding dying with dignity and, in the end, she succeeded.

This documentary paints a vivid picture of a brave activist, family man, and the complexity of human experiences. It follows Linda and her loved ones during a year filled with the preparations for her imminent death. But, does she actually find peace in the way she had hoped?

Tickets are priced at $12 for general admission and $9 for festival members. For more information and to purchase tickets, call 928-282-1177. The theatre and festival offices can be found at 2030 W. Hwy. 89A, West Sedona. Additional details can be found at the festival’s website.
