Yuma, Arizona (KYMA, KECY-TV) – The Excessive Heat Warning for Yuma and Imperial counties has expired, but remains in effect for eastern Arizona until 8:00 PM Friday.
Temperatures will drop slightly to near-normal over the weekend, but highs are expected to top 110 degrees early next week.
Also, early next week, monsoon moisture is moving into southeastern Arizona, potentially leading to isolated thunderstorms, which the Bureau of Meteorology teams are keeping an eye on.

Winds will pick up later tomorrow afternoon, starting to blow dust and will intensify in the southwestern desert overnight.
Wind gusts as high as 40 mph are likely in Imperial County, raising concerns about dust roll-off and unhealthy air quality.
