Phoenix (AZ Family) — A storm moving north of Arizona will keep us cool for a few days after recording highs in the low 80s near metro Phoenix on Monday.
Highs will be in the 70s on Tuesday and Wednesday, and into the 80s on Thursday.
Temperatures will start to drop on Friday as the roller coaster of temperatures continues into the weekend.
A strong storm will move into the state from the northwest over the weekend. The storm will bring a cold front to the state, but the amount of moisture appears to be limited. Widespread rain and snow is expected in northern Arizona, but the chance of precipitation in the Valley looks low.
At this time, a few showers are possible around Phoenix on Sunday, especially in the afternoon. As time goes on, we will get more specific predictions.
On this day in 1994, a powerful storm dumped nearly 5 inches of rain around Sierra Vista in southern Arizona, causing widespread flooding.
