According to public documents and first reported by Parents Defending Education, two public schools in Seattle are offering unspecified gender transition services called “Gender Affirmation Care” through school clinics.
Nova High School and mean middle school Each school provides on-site medical services, including medical and counseling services through the Country Doctor Community Health Center (CDCHC), according to each school’s website. CDCHC is a local non-profit organization that also operates two primary care clinics. The school’s website does not specify what “gender-affirmation” services the clinic offers, but the CDCHC provides heterosexual hormones, referrals for heterosexual surgery, and seeks such surgery. It provides assistance with obtaining letters of support for people, among other things. according to to their website.

“At Country Doctor Community Health Centers, gender-affirming care is integrated into routine primary care, so hormones can be taken in the same place where you get physicals, cancer screenings, and treatments for acute and chronic health conditions. You can,” the CDCHC website says.

Seattle public schools have policies that explicitly prohibit teachers from disclosing their children’s transgender identity unless legally required to do so, and they don’t know how children identify themselves at home. teachers are encouraged to avoid pronouns when discussing transgender students with parents. according to In documents unearthed by parents who advocate for education.
“The Nova Wellness Center provides free, comprehensive, trauma-based, gender-affirming care that is convenient for the school,” states the School Wellness Center website. read. “Wellness centers are staffed by clinic administrators, healthcare providers, and behavioral health professionals.”
The euphemism “gender-affirmative care” includes a broader ethos that affirms a patient’s transgender status and perceived gender identity, rather than helping the patient come to terms with their natural body or biological sex. Includes health services and physical medical interventions.
