Sedona, Arizona – The Sedona-Oak Creek Airport Authority has announced the commencement of a 2023 improvement project at the Sedona airport.
The $1,461,608 project includes restoration of the entire taxiway system, crack sealing, seal coating and remarking of the airport runway. Work he will begin in mid-May and will take about three weeks to complete.
Airport Manager Ed Rose said: The project, an ADOT-funded grant, will repair and maintain critical infrastructure for local pennies with dollars from air passenger fares. The Sedona-Oak Creek Airport Authority will provide the matching funds necessary for airport sponsor Yavapai County to accept this grant opportunity. The agency is 100% self-funded by him, and according to a recent study conducted by AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association), the Sedona airport brings about $40 million annually to the local economy.
Cactus Asphalt is the contractor for this improvement.
