Sedona Film Fest presents Sirsy LIVE in concert April 23

Sedona News – Back by Popular Demand: The Sedona International Film Festival announces award-winning recording duo Sirsy will perform live live at Mary D. Fisher Theatre in Sedona on Wednesday, April 23rd at 7pm

Originally from upstate New York, Sirsy features Melanie Krahmer and Rich Libutti, but is a cocky pop-rock duo with folk intimateness. Sirsy is known for his passionate, honest, heartfelt live performances that have charming strength and plenty of stories from the road.

It’s hard to imagine this loud noise from just two people. The Boston Globes call Sarcy the “little band with big sound.” Fans call them the little band of Big Hearts.

Originally from upstate New York, Sirsy plays a cocky singer-songwriter pop-rock with charming strength and plenty of hearts and souls. Sirsy’s passionate and realistic live shows have plenty of fun stories and even nerdy jokes. They can somehow make the audience sing, dance, laugh, cry together – all on the same show. They really know how to connect with their audience.

Playing more than 200 shows a year across the US, Sirsy is in front of the charismatic, soulful powerhouse of lead vocalists. (Seriously wait until you hear Mel Singh!) Mel is also the drummer for the band (and she is featured in modern drummers). She plays the bass simultaneously on the keyboard along with the drumstick. She also plays piano, melodica and the occasional Wadders flute solos.

Mel’s bandmate, husband, co-writer, best is rich libti. Rich plays brilliantly the beloved, road-weary Rickenbacker through a pedalboard full of vintage effects. He looks like three guitarists at live shows. Rich also plays bass (and often does it on a pedalboard with his feet on live shows).

These two multi-instrumentalists sound like a full band and somehow do it with a big smile on their faces. Their clever, smart songs have more hooks than the tackle box, with lyrics that focus on empowerment and resilience. Fans support the duo through two matches with the pandemic, 11 records and Mel’s two cancers. All shows are like a celebration for this couple and their fans. Come and celebrate your life with them!

Sirsy’s had songs on the hit television show “Shameless,” NFL, HBO, MTV and PBS. They are regulars on NPR. They warmed up the stages of Brandi Carlisle, Maroon 5, Train, Grace Potter, Joan Jett, Cheap Trick, Collective Soul, Blue Straveler, Spin Doctors, Adam Ezra Group, Pat McGee Band and Lifehouse. Recently they won the “Eddies Music Awards” for “Rock/Pop Artist of the Year”, “Record of the Year” and “Solo/Duo Artist of the Year.” Their last few records were produced by Grammy Award-winning Paul Q. Coldelly. “Not only have two Sirsy, he’s incredible!” on the SXSW Music blog. And on the Houston music blog, “Sirsy makes good, edgy music that’s fun to watch. You have to watch them live!”

“Sercy is your favorite band. You don’t know that yet.” – Rochester City Newspaper
