Sedona, Arizona – Festival Teams Up with Wild Resort for Outdoor Films
The Sedona International Film Festival has joined forces with Wild Resort in West Sedona to kick off “Wilde Wednesdays,” part of their “Movies on the Move” Outdoor Film Experience. This series will run every Wednesday throughout the summer.
On Wednesday, July 9th, the featured film will be “Bohemian Rhapsody,” set to be screened at the Globe Fire Pit Garden at Wild Resort and Spa.
“Bohemian Rhapsody” received five Academy Award nominations, notably for Best Picture, and clinched four Oscars, including Best Lead Actor for Rami Malek, who also won a Golden Globe for his performance.
This film celebrates the legendary band Queen and their extraordinary frontman, Freddie Mercury. It highlights how Freddie defied norms and emerged as one of the most beloved entertainers globally.
The storyline follows the rise of Queen, showcasing their iconic songs and groundbreaking sound. However, dark influences lead Freddie to distance himself from the band in favor of a solo career, a choice that brings him despair until their much-anticipated reunion for Live Aid.
Faced with a recent AIDS diagnosis, Freddie delivers one of rock music’s most memorable performances, sealing Queen’s status as a legacy that continues to inspire dreamers and music fans worldwide.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the movie on a large outdoor screen. Wild Resort will also offer food, drinks, and fun concessions to enhance the experience.
Wild Resort and Spa is promoting local getaway packages starting at $199 per night for their Globe Rooms. Guests will receive complimentary bottles of wine, waived resort fees, and late noon checkout. When reserving, use the code “d-wwed.”
The outdoor screening of “Bohemian Rhapsody” will begin at dusk on July 9th at Wild Resort and Spa, located at 2250 W. State Route 89A in West Sedona. Seating starts at 7 PM, and parking is free.
