Sedona Humane Society Keeps No Kill Policy for 2024

90% of Dogs and Cats Entering Shelters Last Year Were Saved

Animal welfare agencies are celebrated for saving over 90% of dogs and cats that were brought into shelters last year. The Humane Society of Sedona has proudly announced that, by 2024, it’s achieved a remarkable 98% success rate for animals entering their care.

“Our success comes from actively promoting pets available for adoption and hosting special adoption events for more than 17 weeks each year. We really focus on finding loving homes for all the animals in our shelter. The incredible support from our donors plays a huge role in this achievement,” shared a representative.

One key initiative contributing to this success is the Emergency Medical Fund (EMF). Funded entirely by individual donations, this program helps cover the costs for treatments, especially for serious medical conditions that otherwise might go untreated.

Without proper treatment, animals can suffer or even face euthanasia due to illness or injury. The Humane Society of Sedona is immensely grateful for the support of the community and the emergency medical fund, which enables them to maintain a 98% save rate.

“It takes commitment, resources, partnerships, and continuous community support to maintain this level of lifesaving. We’re proud to be part of this journey and appreciate the recognition from the Animal Society for our efforts,” they added.
