Sedona Parks & Rec preps egg hunt

The City of Sedona Parks and Recreation Division will be hatching Posse Grounds Parks’ 14th Annual Celebration on Saturday, April 19th at 525 Posse Ground Road, 9am to 4pm.

“For beginners, it’s going to be a very enjoyable time full of all ages and a festive atmosphere,” says Vargo. “There are not many other options like this in a town that rivals the amount of communities that come together every year for a delightful purpose.”

The event will include free outdoor attractions, an inflatable play area for young children, a free egg hunt with over 25,000 eggs for kids, and this year egg hunting for high school students.

Vargo said the carnival-style rides were discarded due to liability and insurance considerations, but zip lines, rock climbing walls and huge slides will be available.

“The Ninjanation Obstacle Course is a new addition to this event, a long obstacle course of 125 feet,” says Vargo. “There are two lanes available. One is suitable for ages 5-12, while the other is over 13. All participants must sign the exemption before using the course. However, it will be a simple online option.

Egg hunts will take place at 10:30am, 2am to 2am, 11am to 11am, 6am to 11am, 11am to 11am, 11:30am, 11:30am, 11:30am for children, 9am to 12:30pm, and 12:30pm for high school students.

“I’ve been trying to create more opportunities for teenagers,” says Vargo. “So, volunteers at the Interaction Club will help hide eggs specifically for teenagers. So high school students will be able to hunt their own eggs in their own area.”

A total of 144 eggs include prizes suitable for various ages and redemption tickets. Children must bring their own baskets, and hunting and rides are free, but cash is recommended for food, drinks, face painting and other activities.

“The popular Face Painter from Radiant Arts is back again, and there will also be a trailer for the carnival game on site, with the game going for $5 each,” says Vargo. “It is also available from a variety of food vendors.”

The Easter Bunny is available for photos and Meet and Greet from 9:30am to 10:30am, 11:30am to 12:30pm and 1:30pm to 2:30pm.

Plus, my free drum circle will be held at Posse Grounds Pavilion from noon to 2pm on the day of the event.

Those interested in volunteering for the event can do so through the Volunteer Acedona and Verde Valley websites. vsvv.org. Volunteering includes setting up and breaking up event booths, greetings and counting participants, and managing the line of egg hunting and garbage collection.
