Sedona Police Department K9 Sam will receive a bullet and stab wound protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from the nonprofit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.

K9 Sam's vest is sponsored by the K9s, Inc. vested interest group and will be embroidered with the sentiment, “In memory of K9 Hobbs of Des Moines, Iowa – EOW 12-12-23.” Delivery is expected to occur within 8-10 weeks.

Founded in 2009, Vested Interest in K9s is a 501(c) with a mission to provide bullet and stab protection vests and other assistance to dogs in law enforcement and related agencies across the United States. 3) It is a charity organization.

This potentially life-saving body armor for four-legged K9 officers is custom-fitted, made in the USA, and NIJ-certified. Since its founding, the K9s Vested Interest Group, made possible by individual and corporate donations, has provided over 5,472 rights to his K9s in all 50 states, valued at $6.9 million.

This program is open to U.S. dogs that are at least 20 months old, actively employed, and certified by law enforcement or related agencies. K9s are also eligible to participate if they have an expired vest. There are an estimated 30,000 law enforcement K9s across the United States.

Vested interests of K9s, Inc. accept tax-deductible donations of any amount, with a one-time donation of $985 to sponsor one of the best.
