Sedona Prince leads way, Taylor Bigby hits big shot, and TCU women top No. 13 NC State 76-73 – Winnipeg Free Press

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) – Sedona Prince had 31 points and 16 rebounds, Taylor Bigby made the crucial shot and TCU defeated No. 13 North Carolina State 76-73 on Sunday to earn a Suppressed the counterattack in the 4th quarter.

The Horned Frogs (4-0) cut an 11-point lead in the fourth quarter to one with 44 seconds left. After a TCU turnover by Haley Van Lith, the Wolfpack had Asiaha James miss a 3-pointer and Madison Conner grabbed a defensive rebound.

With time running out, Bigby received a pass on the right side, weaved past defenders and made a left layup with 8.4 seconds left to seal the victory for TCU. The Horned Frogs gave with two fouls, but time expired as James missed a potential tying 3-pointer for NC State.

For TCU, Van Lith had 18 points and 10 assists, Conner had 11 points and Bigby had 10 points. The Horned Frogs, who currently sit second on the team’s receiving points list in the Top 25 poll, are looking to break into the top 25 this week.

For the Wolfpack (2-2), James scored 27 points, Saniya Rivers had 16 points and Zoe Brooks had 15 points.

TCU led 33-31 at halftime and never trailed in the second half.

The Horned Frogs played a non-conference game at home against a current Final Four team for the first time since 2004. The Wolfpack is one of three preseason AP Top 10 teams on the Frogs’ nonconference schedule.
