Gruden Collaborates with Barstool Sports
Former head coach John Gruden, who led both the Oakland Raiders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers to Super Bowl victories, has been engaging with Barstool Sports over the past year to create football-oriented content.
A particularly popular segment features him unpacking equipment and boxes, sometimes purportedly “stolen,” from collegiate athletic programs across the country. During these showcases, he often humorously critiques past legends in the sport.
Recently, after meeting Alabama Crimson Tide Men’s Basketball Coach Nate Oats at the Senior Bowl Hall of Fame event in Fairhope, Oats committed to sending Gruden a box filled with Crimson Tide gear, hinting at some great upcoming content.
Ah, man…roll tide roll!
I met Nate Oats at Fairhope, Alabama, and he promised me a box of the Crimson Tide basketball team. The boy was delivered by him!
Thank you to the coach @Alabamambb for all this gear! I can’t wait to see you right away in the Final Four!! pic.twitter.com/ulcsjenhsv

Gruden is sure to have plenty of Alabama memorabilia, as he’s received praise for past figures like Wimp Sanderson, Robert Horry, and Latrell Sprewell, among others. Oats even sent a handwritten note, calling Gruden “the coach in the best clothes” and finishing with a spirited “roll tide!”
But it wasn’t all about the gear over the weekend. Gruden also had the chance to sit down with standout wide receiver Ryan Williams to chat about football.
Everyone saw the touchdown Ryan Williams scored to beat Georgia last season…
But did you know how it turned out? Before this play, I got an internal scoop about his connection with Jalen Milroe! https://t.co/9cyjqhgjls pic.twitter.com/hzovaltdvs
