Former Clinton poller Doug Shane torn up vice-chairman David Hogg on Monday over his plans for a major aging Democratic member of Congress.
Hogg announced plans Tuesday to spend $20 million on key incumbents he deemed lacking will to fight, prompting criticism from former Clinton advisor James Kerrville for using his leadership position to target incumbents, including California Democrat Rep. Nancy Pelosi. Shane was disappointed with Hogg’s plan and said that Democrats “fighting among themselves” would be “self-destructive.” (Related: “Party Takes over”: Former Clinton poller tells Harris Faulkner, “To the left, the Democrats “can’t recognize it.”

“I think it’s about the worst idea, Harris has heard recently. James Kerrville, money is very correct in this example,” Shane told Fox News host Harris Faulkner. “We Democrats need to provide policies that are different to Republicans and support programs that Democrats are traditionally Medicare, Social Security, Medicaid, and what they are like to differentiate themselves. They can’t fight themselves in self-destructive, self-destructive ways. What David Hogg is doing makes no sense.”
Shane hinted that many medium Democrats have been killed by leftist activists like Hogg.
“There were a lot of moderate voices in Clinton’s time,” Shane complained. “Now, our left is barely there. The left is in the upper hand, not in terms of numbers, but in the loudest.”
New York Democrat Sen. Chuck Schumer has been criticised by left-wing media figures and Democrats in Congress for his decision to pass a GOP-covered spending bill to prevent the government from shutting down in March.
According to a CNN poll released in March, Democrats’ favor plunged to 29%. Gallup Opinion survey Released Thursday showed that only 25% of Americans are confident in democratic Congressional leadership.
