‘Self-Important Judges’: Chip Roy Slams Courts For Protecting Bureaucrats Over Public Safety

Texas Republican Rep. Chip Roy appeared on Fox News on Tuesday, accusing the judge of hampering President Donald Trump’s efforts to run the government more efficiently.

Between exterior In “Ingraham’s Angle,” Roy misuses the Administrative Procedure Act, a law that dates back to 1946, and unfairly expands their power and thinks that the administration is arbitrary or whimsical. He said he is blocking his actions. He said there was a disconnect between judicial interpretation and legislative intent.

“The absurdity of the fact that these activist judges are trying to tell the US President, the CEO of our government, that his nominees and himself cannot see the information. Look and make sure your Social Security number is not replicated. Try to publish all the outrageous programs that Americans sent him to Washington to expose him. [It] Roy told Laura Ingraham.

Roy criticized what he said as a self-important attitude among judges who believe they can act without restrictions.

“And they use administrative procedures laws and abuse them. Based on your legal background and knowledge, you are very familiar with it, and you know, they will arbitrarily do so. It’s about using it as a targeted, whimsical standard and saying they can do whatever they want to do,” Roy said. “And in reality, they can’t. And it’s something that Congress needs to see, whether we amend that law or change it in some way, to answer your question. There may be.”

This misuse of authority is in contrast to actions taken during the Biden administration, Roy said.

“So we have to look at the judges themselves, and review what these guys are doing, and how they think they are empowered to do that. But in the last administration, think of Joe Biden literally issued an executive order telling ICE that you can’t even enforce the law. That’s why criminals run Amok , can put Americans at risk, but that’s fine,” added Roy. Roy said he was vilified when Trump took steps to verify Social Security records to prevent fraud.

“President Trump wants to fall and look at Social Security data and make sure it’s not replicated, so he can be protected because the records are not stolen,” Roy said. “And somehow he’s the bad guy. Or, by the way, a fire bureaucrat. You said, “Oh, the president can’t fire a bureaucrat.” Yes, he can. He is the CEO. Of course, he can fire the bureaucrats. ”

The judge has actively blocked Trump’s agenda, and the Justice Department accused him of “unbearable judicial overreach” following the spending freeze order on Monday. They challenged Judge John J. McConnell Jr.’s decision at the First Circuit Court of Appeals, saying that the judge cannot control administrative budgeting under the guise of a temporary restraining order. .

A federal judge appointed by Republican President Ronald Reagan blocked some of Trump’s agenda after halting the president’s plan to move three trans women from women to men’s prison facilities . Since 1987, district judge Lois Lambers has temporarily blocked Trump’s executive orders that require men to be held in men’s prisons regardless of gender identity, and this has led to federal law and their ordered siding with plaintiffs who say they violated the constitutional rights of the plaintiffs.
