Louisiana Republican Sen. John Kennedy criticized Vice President Kamala Harris' handling of key issues during an appearance on Fox News on Tuesday.
During an appearance on “The Ingram Angle,” Kennedy criticized Ms Harris and President Joe Biden's economic policies, calling them “inflation machines.” He also accused Ms Harris of lacking a concrete strategy for lowering prices and accusing her of relying on “abstraction” to avoid scrutiny of her policy record.
“I believe Harris talks about abstract things like the rule of law, freedom, joy and opportunity because she can't talk about her record,” Kennedy said. “Unless you look on Twitter, you know that Harris' record on inflation, crime, the economy, borders, national security and defense is terrible. So she distorts the facts and tries to distract from it.”
In this election, each of us is faced with the question: What kind of country do we want to live in?
A country of chaos, fear and hatred – or of freedom, compassion and the rule of law?
Each of us has the power to answer that question with our vote.

“It's harder than ever to get ahead in America today. And it's easier than ever to do nothing. I still think the economy, inflation and this race will be the main issues. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have been inflation machines,” he added. “What's Harris' plan to bring prices down? She doesn't have a plan.” (Related: “This lunacy is on the rise”: Republican Sen. The consumer price index rose 2.9% year-on-year in July, the first time it has fallen below 3% since hitting a peak of 9% in June 2022. Harris proposed a plan to ban food price hikes in her Aug. 16 speech.
A recent Reuters/Ipsos poll showed President Trump's lead over Vice President Kamala Harris on the economy narrowing. voteForty-three percent of registered voters approved of the former president's economic policies, while 40% supported Harris. The poll, conducted Aug. 23-25, has a margin of error of 4 percentage points.
“I don't think this election will be decided by abstract things like the rule of law or joy. I don't think most Americans think much about abstract things. They're too busy getting up every day and going to work and obeying the law and paying taxes and raising moral standards for their kids,” Kennedy said on the show.
