Senate Republicans voted Thursday evening to confirm that former White House Director of the Management and Budget Office (OMB) Russell had taken the helm for the second time.
The senator voted between 53 and 47 along the party line in support of Vought. OMB Director Design will become President Donald Trump’s 13th cabinet candidate, double the confirmation pace of the Biden administration and the first Trump administration.
Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer pledged at a press conference Tuesday that all Senate Democrats would oppose Vought’s nomination.
The Vought confirmation comes after Democrats spoke for 30 hours on the Senator’s floor and delayed the OMB Directoryneet confirmation slip as long as possible. (Related: After beating Tim Waltz in the ballot box, GOP deals with a different blow to former VP candidate)

Senate Republican Reminds me Vauge’s colleagues who won the votes to be confirmed and Democrats refused to promote OMB supervision and nomination votes was a pointless exercise.
“They [Democrats] Republican Kansas Sen. Roger Marshall told DCNF. “They’re mad at Donald Trump. This is the bar room now and President Trump is a really good bar room brawl and I think this is the latest they can latch. Masu.”
“Democrats want to slow things down. Republicans won’t allow that to happen,” Senate majority Whip John Baraso said Thursday on the Senate floor. “This week we will be checking out five Cabinet members over four days.”
Senate Democrats opposed Vought’s nomination with greater urgency than Trump’s previous cabinet candidates brought to the floor. Many democratic lawmakers appear to be casting the looming confirmation of OMB Director Design in apocalyptic terms, and Trump openly says that Trump may mean for the future of American democracy. I thought about it.
“We’re going to speak all night,” Schumer said Wednesday on the Senate floor. “We want every hour to hear how bad Russell is and the dangers he poses to them in his daily life, whether it’s 8pm, 3am or 3am. “
Earlier on Thursday morning, Democrat Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy warned the US from an air senator that “darkness has fallen” on Vought with an imminent confirmation.
“This is an urgent moment,” Murphy said. I said A video posted later on X said, “There are days or weeks when you can pretend to be effective against this slide from democracy.”
“What we’ve seen over the past few days will fly in the face of the meaning of living in the Democratic Republic,” coordinated the administration’s enforcement actions related to the freeze on federal funds and the dismantling of government agencies. “Mr. Vought’s actions are illegal, they are unconstitutional, and the fact that he is doing it doesn’t make it legal. So we’re continuing to fight.”
Senate Republicans largely ignored colleagues’ warnings about Vought’s nomination, stressing that OMB director designations will carry out Trump’s mission to roll back Biden’s regulations and reduce unnecessary spending I did.
“As Director of OMB, Vought has the opportunity to address two important economic issues: to reduce government regulations and tackle excessive spending.” “Republicans are I am determined to reduce the burden of that regulation and improve the lives of hardworking Americans, and I know that Vought will make removing the burdensome regulations a priority. ”
They also sent Trump to the White House and elected a GOP-controlled Congress, when Rush attempted to hold an overnight speech with their Democratic colleagues opposed Vought’s nomination and handed over him. I wondered if it could backfire people.
“Russell Voat will be confirmed. All Republicans will be confirmed,” Ohio Sen. Bernie Moreno, a Republican, told DCNF. “So what did you do? [Democrats] achieve? “
“Security must be extra time here. Poor people [Senate] The staff need to spend extra time for the show,” Moreno added.
Democrats continued their opposition exhibits on the Senate floor and spoke well as OMB directors attacked.
Vault served in Trump’s OMB during the first administration. He started as Associate OMB Director and was then promoted to lead the office in 2019.
