Senator Mark Kelly Announces Reopening of North Rim Post Dragon Bravo Fire

Senator Mark Kelly has shared the news that the North Rim section of the Grand Canyon is set to reopen, following its closure due to the Dragon Bravo Fire. His push for restoring access aims to encourage tourism and help local economies bounce back. “Reopening North Rim means families and visitors can once again enjoy some of the most beautiful spots,” Kelly remarked.

This past summer, the fire ravaged nearly 150,000 acres, resulting in significant destruction, including the loss of the historic Grand Canyon Lodge. Kelly has actively urged federal agencies to focus on recovery efforts and ensure that visitors can safely return.

To support recovery, he has made several efforts, including visiting the Grand Canyon to evaluate damages and talking with local business owners. His goal is to assist northern Arizona communities in their recovery from the fire.
