Several people arrested for cockfighting face multiple charges

TUCSON, Arizona (KGUN) – Pima County lawmakers responded to reports of a cockfight on the 800 block of South Cactus Apple Lane on May 27.

There was a large gathering at a facility.

Evidence of cockfighting was found, and lawmakers obtained a warrant to search the property.

Police officials arrested several people charged with cockfighting, possession of cockfights, possession of drugs, drunken driving, outstanding warrants, and willful cruelty to animals.

More than 150 animals were recovered, including roosters, hens, chicks, dogs and turtles.

The investigation is still ongoing and anyone with information has been asked to contact 911 or 88CRIME.
