The next night, Fox host Sean Hannity asked Jenkins about his comments. said Hannity. “What did you mean by that?”
“Well, Sean, what I mean is, I’ve been to the border,” Jenkins replied. “We have seen the impact illegal immigration has on border counties. I believe with all my heart.”
That look set a template that the network and Jenkins repeated over the next five years.
In early 2018, Jenkins returned to Fox, blurring the line between illegal immigration and MS-13. After he met with then-President Donald Trump, Jenkins said Trump would “declare war” on MS-13.
“We will not allow ISIS, Al Qaeda, or the Taliban to thrive in our communities,” Jenkins said. and let us eradicate them from our country.”
“Tell me how you feel about the president entering the country, and how you thought he was going to handle the issue of illegal immigration related to MS-13, and how do you feel now?” Fox & Friends asked co-host Brian Kilmeade.
“Well, once he walked into the room, I knew he was taking it seriously,” Jenkins replied. “We have a president who takes it seriously. To do.”
That May, Jenkins reappeared Fox & Friendsthis time arguing that the alleged increase in women and girls participating in MS-13 justified the immigration policy response.
“Are they turning Americans into a gangster lifestyle?” Kilmeade asked.
“I think you see both situations,” Jenkins replied. “Even more so bringing young women from El Salvador into gangs. .”
“What I fear is that we will take it lightly,” he continued. “Law enforcement is not going to pursue it. I’m really worried about where this could go if we don’t take it seriously.”
The following month, in another segment on MS-13 featuring Jenkins, Kilmeade said: Gang member.
“It’s a clue,” said Jenkins.
“We haven’t done enough yet,” he added later. “What we have to do is pressure this administration, the Department of Justice, to declare this organization a terrorist organization, to clean it up, to get it out of here, out of this country.”
That July, Jenkins argued that activists who want to abolish the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement “want open borders, they want lawlessness, they want lawlessness.”
In September 2018, Jenkins attacked liberal cities and states that oppose Trump’s immigration policies.
“Sheriff, does it irritate you and others in your position that there are sanctuary counties, sanctuary cities, and sanctuary states not cooperating with ICE?” Fox & Friends asked co-host Steve Doocy.
“I certainly do,” Jenkins replied. “You know, we’re all feeling this effect across the country. If the county or state that borders us is a sanctuary county, we’re certainly going to I can feel the impact.”
Jenkins is back in November 2019 Fox & Friends To protect the “Thin Blue Line” flag, a symbol of the Blue Lives Matter movement Appeared Against Black Lives Matter.
“What do you see when you look at that blue-lined flag?” Doocy asked.
“I see men and women doing their job with dedication, going out to law enforcement every day, sometimes risking their lives,” Jenkins said.
“This thin blue line is the difference between civilized society and complete chaos,” he added.
