Sheriff Hoss Mack: Why I’m voting for Jerry Carl on March 5th

I'm voting for Congressman Jerry Kahl on March 5th because he's a conservative who keeps his promises and gets things done. He sees two types of elected officials. People who talk about doing things and people who actually do them. Jerry is the guy who gets them done.

Jerry has been a friend of mine for many years and has always been supportive of me and all of my fellow law enforcement officers. Most importantly, he understands Baldwin County and the challenges we face, including the large amount of illegal drugs and immigration coming across our southern border.

Some may think the border crisis doesn't affect us here in Alabama, but I can promise you it does. Baldwin County, and all of Alabama, are directly affected by the border crisis. Just a few months ago, a member of the MS13 gang on El Salvador's most wanted list was arrested in Chelsea, Alabama, after being deported exactly one year ago.

Chelsea is a small, quiet town on the outskirts of Birmingham, more than 1,000 miles from the southern border. If it can happen at Chelsea, it can happen anywhere.

The gang member, who is in Alabama illegally, was wanted in El Salvador on charges of aggravated kidnapping, attempted aggravated murder, aggravated extortion, terrorist organization, and deprivation of liberty. That is the definition of the bad guys, and it is these people who come across the border.

Thankfully, Jerry Carl is here in Washington fighting to end this for us. He was instrumental in passing the toughest border legislation in history and consistently voted to build a wall and secure the border.

We need more people in Congress like Jerry, who actually put America first and don't just pay lip service to implementing President Trump's policies.

We in Baldwin County, and the rest of Alabama's 1st Congressional District, need someone in Washington who will actually get things done for us and make Trump's policies a reality.

Jerry Carl is that person, and that's why I'm voting for him on March 5th. I hope you will join me in sending him to Washington to continue fighting for us. Â

Sheriff Mack was first elected in 2006 and is currently serving his fifth term as Baldwin County Sheriff. He is a past president of the Alabama Sheriff's Association.
