Sheriff reports two dogs discovered abandoned and tied to a bicycle in the Arizona desert.

The dogs were safely taken to the sheriff’s office after being detached from the bicycle.

Yavapai County, Ariz. — Earlier this week, two abandoned dogs were discovered tied to a bicycle in a secluded part of Yavapai County.

The puppies were found on Monday, September 29, in a desert area situated north of Mayer and south of Highway 169, as reported by the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office. A video shared by YCSO shows animal control officers rescuing the dogs from the bike and ensuring their safety.

Authorities emphasized the importance of promptly reaching the animals before things could have taken a dire turn. They also urged the public not to leave pets unattended in the desert.
