‘She’s On The Downswing’: Pollster Says Harris’ Effort To Rebrand Herself Has Failed To Gain Traction

Pollster Matt Towery told Fox News on Monday that Vice President Kamala Harris' attempt to rebrand herself is failing.

Towery Appeared Appearing on “The Ingraham Angle,” she discussed a New York Times poll showing that 47% of voters see Harris as too liberal, while 32% see former President Donald Trump as too conservative. Towery stressed that efforts to change Harris' image “are not working” as poll numbers that supported Trump during Biden's candidacy are starting to revert to similar levels.

“It's not working. What's interesting is that the battleground polling that I'm doing is showing the same thing that we're seeing in this New York Times poll, which is that Trump's approval ratings when Biden was on the campaign trail are starting to go back up to roughly the same levels they were before Harris became the candidate or the nominee,” the political analyst told Laura Ingraham.

The shift in momentum signals a reversal for Harris, whose lead has shrunk despite earlier predictions that her support would surge after Biden dropped out of the presidential race in July 2024. Towery said any initial gains Harris may have enjoyed appear to be fading as Trump regains momentum, especially in key battleground states.

“So, Trump is fully back to where he was before. The momentum he had is fading. Who knows what nonsense we're going to hear from the media tomorrow night. No matter how well Trump does, they're going to make it look like she won and the momentum could come from there,” Towley added.

“Donald Trump is on the rise and she's on the fall. Nate Silver is right. He's going to win the battleground states now that correlate with the 2020 Biden-Trump race.” (RELATED: CNN host slams Whitmer for Harris' failure to deliver on campaign promises throughout her time as VP)

a vote A New York Times/Siena College poll showed Trump slightly ahead of Harris, with Trump's approval rating at 48% to Harris's 47% in the poll, conducted September 3-6, just one point ahead of Harris.
