Shirley Sue Lindeman passed away on February 24, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at the Joni Fair Hospice House.
She was born on September 21, 1935 in Missouri to Guy and Sophie (Rainwater) White.
Shirley’s father suffered from asthma, so when she was 13, she and her family left for Saguache for a drier climate and stayed in Colorado for the rest of her life.
In 1954, she married the love of her life, John C. Lindeman, with whom she had four children. Shirley was a wonderful housewife, she was energetic and fun-loving. She was a particularly good seamstress, she was a tailor and made all her family’s clothes. Shirley loved her family and God, so her faith and family and her many friends were above all in her mind and heart. She also enjoyed the mountains, fishing and arrowhead hunting.
After her husband retired, they became snowbirds, splitting their time between Buena Vista, Arizona and Apache Junction, doing so every year until his death 12 years ago.
She is survived by her daughter Debra (Chris) Doren, Carrie Lindemann. Her grandchildren Sabra (Jack) Hoffman, Kayla (Andrew) Maddox. Great grandchildren Wesley, Evan, Eric and Emmett. her sister Betty Bounds;
She was predeceased by her parents, husband John, sons John Lindeman and Roger Lindeman, and brothers Bob White and Bill White.
At her request, she is cremated and buried in Rocky Ford. A memorial service will be held for her on March 16, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Florence Care Home Her 1230 W. 3rd Street, Florence.
