Police say three people were killed in a shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wisconsin on December 16th.
The gunman is believed to be among the dead, according to a statement from Chief Sean F. Burns. shared by NBC News. Burns said police have “identified the juvenile suspect” in the tragedy at the private K-12 school. He went on to say that “officers began lifesaving efforts for the injured” at what he called a “tragic and harrowing scene.”
“We have no further information regarding those who lost their lives,” Barnes said, according to a video statement shared by NBC News.
Burns said officers “responded to the shooter” and when they entered the school, they “found him lying dead on the ground.”
According to law enforcement, six people were injured in the incident. It is not yet clear whether the dead or injured were students, teachers or other school staff.
According to NBC News, police said the suspect in the shooting is believed to be a student at the school. No further information was provided about the identity of the shooting suspect.
Police Chief Burns told reporters that no officers fired shots in connection with the incident.

“This is something we are all preparing for, but we hope we never have to,” he said.
“We are still investigating, gathering evidence and gathering information.”
Burns said a command post has been set up for loved ones to gather information and gather information as it becomes available.
Burns described it as a “sad day for our community and our country.”
