Shootout With Alleged Assailants Critically Injures Legally Armed Man, Police Say: REPORT

Police said a 26-year-old Philadelphia man who was legally carrying a weapon was seriously injured in a shootout with two alleged assailants Saturday night, FOX29 reported.

Police said they found the 26-year-old victim in critical condition after being shot in a shootout with two 16-year-old suspects who were allegedly attempting a robbery. Fox 29.

“It appears that a 16-year-old was attempting to rob a 26-year-old and a shootout ensued between the 26-year-old, who was legally possessing a weapon, and the two young adults,” Philadelphia Police Department (PPD) Lt. D.F. Pace told FOX29.

The gunman was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, while the other suspect escaped injury and was taken into custody, FOX29 reported.

“I was leaving the house and I saw two guys walk by,” a witness told FOX 29. “I saw him and I knew they were going to do something bad. By the time I walked to the other side of Parkside Avenue I heard pop, pop, pop, pop, pop and I thought oh my god, they shot him.”
