Singing River Trail executive director John Kuvack was arrested Monday morning on suspicion of distributing and displaying child pornography, according to the Madison County Sheriff's Office.

Kvatch was booked into the Madison County Jail at 10:29 a.m. on $100,000 bail after his Brownsboro home was searched around 7 a.m.
He is charged with five counts of possession of child pornography and one count of distribution of child pornography, according to jail records.
Brent Patterson of the sheriff's office confirmed that deputies were at Kvatch's home on Cove Creek Drive but did not provide any further details.
The Singing River Trail released a statement Monday afternoon: Kvatch has been at the helm since the inception of the Singing Trail, a 200-plus mile greenway system that spans north Alabama, creating economic and tourism opportunities.
“Earlier today, the Singing River Trail Board of Trustees learned of the arrest of Executive Director, Dr. John Kuvack. The suspect's actions are unacceptable and reprehensible.”

At this time, the Board does not believe the alleged conduct involves Singing River Trail resources, offices or sites, but if the situation changes, the Board will direct remaining team members to thoroughly investigate such allegations. Additionally, the Singing River Trail team will cooperate with law enforcement in any manner necessary.”
“As of today, the Board has begun the process of Dr. Kvatch's departure from Singing River Trail. As the Board goes through that process, we will begin the difficult task of searching for a new Executive Director who will meet the Board's high expectations and represent Singing River Trail's values, while the important work of Singing River Trail will continue.”
