YUMA, Ariz. (Kyma, Kecy) – Arizona Western College (AWC) chamber singers and the Yuma Chorale present two choral performances of Sing with the Masters.
Singing with the Masters features music written and arranged by female composers, from Vittoria Aletti to Rosefanny Powell.
“We invite you to join us as we celebrate music written by traditionally underrepresented composers,” said Deltrina D. Grimes, AWC professor of choral and vocal music.
AWC said the first concert will take place on Friday, March 22 at 7 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1550 S. 14th Avenue.
The second concert will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3030 S. 8th Avenue, on Sunday, March 24th at 4 p.m.
Yuma Catholic High School's Golden Shamrock Choir will perform as well at Sunday's concert, under the direction of choir director Brandon Koz.
Both performances are free and open to the public, AWC said.
Donations are welcome and all funds will be awarded to AWC music students as scholarships, AWC said.
