Slew of summer camps coming to Maricopa

With the end of the school year approaching, it’s time to start thinking about attending summer camp. Camps are a great opportunity for children to explore new experiences, make new friends and develop valuable life skills.

From math boot camps to soccer training, check out these local camps.

Maricopa High School Soccer Skills Camp

The MHS football staff will host a two day camp for 1st through 6th place. –Grade students interested in becoming offensive and defensive linemen.

Camp will be held May 4-5 from 5-6:30 pm at the MHS Football Field.

The fee is $25 and the registration form can be found at the link provided. Students who register early will receive a free t-shirt, but staff will also accept registrations on the day.

Parents are welcome to stay and watch footballers, but are advised to bring plenty of water.

Central Arizona College – Math Boot Camp

Mathematics faculty at Central Arizona College offer in-person and online math boot camps to assist high school students who have taken or are planning to take dual-enrolment courses.

Interactive camps are designed to help students improve their math skills, prepare them for college-level math classes, and expose them to an online environment.

The Live Stream Camp will run June 5-8, and the In-Person Camp will run June 12-15, June 26-29, and July 17-20., and August 7-10.

Central Arizona College – YATA

The Young Advanced Technology Academy offers a career exploration program for Pinal County students entering Years 7-10 in Fall 2023.

The program covers a variety of career paths including drone technology, renewable energy, robotics, and 3D printing., and fire science.

Applications are open now and the program will run June 5-8 for Years 7 and 8 and June 12-15 for Years 9 and 10. Interested students are required to submit a short essay on their career goals and aspirations.

Boys and Girls Clubs offer a number of summer camps for children, providing a safe and encouraging environment to participate in sports, arts and crafts and educational programs.

Boys and Girls Club Arizona aims to enhance self-esteem and social skills, encourage healthy habits, and promote academic success.
