Small plane makes emergency landing near Flagstaff

The plane landed in a snowy field north of Flagstaff Arboretum.

FLAGSTA, Ariz. – The pilot of a single-engine plane was forced to make an emergency landing in northern Arizona on Sunday during a flight to Oklahoma.

The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office said lawmakers were dispatched to a snowy field north of Flagstaff’s arboretum around 2:30pm, and a small plane landed unexpectedly.

The pilot informed the CCSO, and the plane experienced mechanical problems and requested that the pilot suddenly stop in the open field. The pilot and passengers on the plane were not injured.

The plane flew from southern Nevada to Tulsa and was being delivered to the new owner.

The National Transportation Safety Board will take over the investigation into the case.
