Snoop Dogg Withdraws Days Before Performance After Promoter Allegedly Found Guilty Of Sexual Assault

Snoop Dogg Cancels New Zealand Concert

Snoop Dogg has called off his scheduled concert in New Zealand after news broke that a local promoter was found guilty of sexual assault. This decision to withdraw from the show at the Dewdrop Event Center came just three days before the performance planned for Saturday.

Reports indicate that promoter Pato Alvarez was facing 25 charges related to nine women and had previously been convicted of indecent assault in 2023, as well as attempting illegal sexual contact with his child’s babysitter. Details were revealed by a local outlet.

Interestingly, just a week prior to the cancellation, Alvarez was identified anonymously as an accused figure in the entertainment industry. He had previously claimed to local media that Snoop’s team expressed interest in connecting directly and potentially stopping in New Zealand during a trip to Australia.

Alvarez had attempted to keep his identity concealed, but the Supreme Court in New Zealand denied his request for name suppression earlier this month.

The promotional company, 4 Word Entertainment, confirmed the cancellation on Instagram, stating, “Due to circumstances beyond our control, Snoop Dogg will no longer be performing in Auckland this weekend.” They expressed regret over disappointing fans who were eager for the show, scheduled for September 20th.

A statement from the promoter indicated that this cancellation was disheartening, as they aimed to deliver a high-quality first show in New Zealand. They assured that all ticket refunds would be automatically processed by EventFinda within 2 to 5 days, depending on the bank.

As of now, Snoop Dogg has not made any public remarks regarding the cancellation.
