Snowbowl opens two weeks ahead of schedule for ski and snowboard enthusiasts

Arizona Snowbowl has reopened after an unexpected snowfall, in part as blowers worked to cover the trails with powder.

After a foot of snow fell on Nov. 6, officials moved the opening date up about two weeks to Nov. 8.

Snowbowl managers were excited about the fresh powder and what could be the best opening day ever on the mountain.

“Essentially, our snowmaking this year started on October 18th. Our cruises are working around the clock as much as we can while monitoring these temperatures and making sure we do everything possible. And as you can see, we’ve been able to get some bonus snow from other nature and snow, so we’re ready to rock,” said Angie Grubb, Snowbowl’s marketing director. said.

As of Saturday, seven roads Lift tickets were available for as low as $19.

The mountain is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is open to skiers and snowboarders of all ages.

Friday marked the earliest opening day in the resort’s 86-year history.
