‘So Depressing To Watch’: MSNBC Guest Chews Up Three Minutes Ranting About Vance Calling Zelenskyy On Carpet

Former Russian ambassador Michael McFaulu spent three minutes lamenting MSNBC at an oval office meeting on Friday when President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance clashed with Ukrainian Voldy Zelensky, calling it “oppression.”

Trump canceled a joint press conference with Zelensky after he and Vance discussed with the Ukrainian president during discussions before the planned signing of the mineral contract settled on Wednesday. McFaulu said he should aim for a special responsibility for the outcome of Vance’s meeting, overseeing him with Russian President Vladimir Putin and secretary of state Marco Rubio. “This is so depressing to watch. You know, our vice president, he won the election. I congratulated them all on their strength. He has his own ideas, but I wish I could put this on a more professional channel,” McFall said. “To be honest, he clearly doesn’t know what’s going on in Ukraine. He’s spreading things that aren’t true. I talk to Ukrainians every day. I talk to soldiers every day. They hold the line there and if the Vice President wants to see a true, heroic, heroic effort, like President Zelensky said, he should go and judge for himself.”

“But the truth is, we need to get the Vice President out of negotiations here,” McFall continued. “He’s not an expert on these issues. We need the Secretary of State to reaffirm himself and take charge of these negotiations. Otherwise, we’re not going to help here. I want to be clear about this. Do you understand what’s going on here? When Hitler invaded Poland, we didn’t take the Hitler side. When the Soviets invaded Afghanistan. We didn’t take the Soviet side. When Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait and annexed Kuwait, we didn’t take the Saddam side. This is a historic turning point from the perspective of American foreign policy, and instead of staying with the Democrats, he wants to side with the dictators, dictators, Putin. It’s not in America’s long-term national interest.”

Trump campaigned for citing the number of people killed in the three-year conflict, calling for an end to the war that began when Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022. Trump also rejected the idea that he was aligned with Putin, and during the meeting, “I’m not working with Putin. I’m not aligned with anyone. I’m in aligned with the United States of America.”

“This leads to disaster. We lose allies in Europe, Asia. We burn people like Xi Jinping. That’s what I hope is that this is so tragic to me and the President understands and he’s not with the American people about this,” McFaul said. “Last week’s poll, the Kinipiac poll said 81% of Americans don’t trust Putin. I hope the president understands that he has not even really been in contact with his base. When he sided with Putin against the democratically elected president of Ukraine, the country was invaded by Vladimir Putin. There should be no ambiguity about that. He is the same man, annexing their territory and lures children.”

“Because America is the right thing, but it’s also our long-term national security interest, and I hope that the experts around the president and I are calling the Secretary of State in particular. “They have to wrestle this and get this back on the channels they’re negotiating. We’re not just negotiating on the spot with press sprays where the facts seem unimportant.”

US Sent Over $174 billion aid from February 2022 to January 2025, including M1 Abrams Tanks, MIM-104 Patriot Suffice-to-air missiles, long-range missiles and improved traditional ammunition shells for dual purpose, the M864.

During the meeting, Vance said the Trump administration was engaged in diplomatic efforts and urged Zelensky to complain that Russia had not adhered to the previous ceasefire and that the US had failed to stop Putin. The Ukrainian president was asked to leave the White House after the meeting.

“We held a very meaningful meeting at the White House today. Under such fire and pressure, we learned a lot that we never understood without a conversation,” Trump said. Posted A true society. “It’s amazing that it comes out through emotions. President Zelensky decided that he is not ready for peace because he feels that our involvement gives him a great advantage in negotiations when America is involved. I don’t want any advantage, I want peace. He downplayed the United States of America in his precious oval office. He can come back when he is ready for peace.”
